I have to agree that there is a Morrissey element to this song. Old skool Morrissey, just after leaving the Smiths.
Its due to the minor tonality and the slide vocal line that push an off key feel. Plus its the chord changes, some feel slightly out of place (even though they arent) and the tone of the guitars; the 60's reverb.
They are all things Morrissey has in his music. So yeah, i can see the comparison.

DAMN...Neko Case has that strange attraction, a haunting eerie sound, like a siren she leads your ship on to the rocky shore. Been there, done that and I am glad to have lived to tell the tale.
