The song is good but what really makes up the Bad Girls track is Giorgio Moroder's slick production. This demo makes it sound like an intro for some cheesy cop series from the 70s.. :)

I love this version, but I think Cher would have done a great job on the song if they gave it to her. Just listen to the song "Bad Love." It's almost identical to this song.

This demo was actually recorded in 1977. It was much grittier and rock-oriented than was her image at the time, so Casablanca didn't think she should put it on an album, and it shelved at forgotten for 2 years. I wish they had let Donna sing full-voiced from the start, they should've positioned her as a more talented Gloria Gaynor from the start, 1975.

Oh, good god, Donna co-wrote this song. If Cher had done the song, with or without the electronic vocal manipulator, it would be a totally different song.... Cher is not a great singer, but when you hear her voice you know it is her, and that is worth a lot. Nothing against Cher, but that's like saying what if Donna Summer had recorded "Do You Believe In Love" or "I Found Someone"? Come on....

HELLO! it's called a "demo" because it is recorded inexpensively, sometimes in someone's garage or basement (lol). This demo was recorded with the Brooklyn Dreams. Donna also came up with the "toot toot, hey, beep beep" at the last minute. Of course the album version is better- it was rehearsed and experimented with before the final cut- demos are raw, just to give you an idea of a song.

Hate this version on YouTube, loved it in the Bad Girls collector edition CD though, of which Donna got royalties. I made a mix of the demo and original that is to die for.... maybe I will share that someday, but this.... the pix were nice though.
