Nocturnal House--Pretty Girls Make Graves Entry

Video Description:
Okay, here it is. I know it took me a while, but quality work takes time.
So, for this video I thought it was integral to portray a message with coinciding images that actually followed the song. I honestly don't like it when videos have nothing to do with the actual song. I know if I wrote a song and I wanted a video for it, I would want something that's powerful AND a
rtistic-- not just artistic. Also, I absolutely can't stand, in any video, people using effects just to make their video look 'cool.' (I haven't seen the other videos for this yet, so I am not targeting anyone. I just mean I've seen it many times before.) Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-effects (as
you can see from my video), but I think every time you use an effect it should have a meaning behind it. Otherwise, you're just taking the easy way out. I want to thank... Roz and Gille-- My actress and actor Ashley-- Support and lighting My Mom and Dad-- For letting me use their equipment and
lending their support. And last but not least, I would like to thank PGMG for giving me the opportunity to show my talents and for this excellent learning experience. I want to become a movie director/editor, and I'm going to school for it as we speak, so I really enjoyed this. VIDEO ANALYSIS I
'll try to keep this short... This video is a quintessential tale about a guy and a girl-- with a twist. Obviously you can tell they were happy and in love at one point, but what you don't know is how, with time, he became so obsessed-- so consumed with want for her that it destroyed their relation
ship. The story is told through his eyes as he sits in the bathtub thinking about all the events that led him there. I think the symbolism that the bathtub represents is very important, though it can be interpreted as cliché. Basically it means that he is at his most vulnerable point and you're see
ing him for who he truly is. Almost all of his memories have some kind of distortion to them; because no one's memories are ever perfect and crystal clear. Seeing the story through his memories lends a very surreal feeling to the viewers. Almost like being in a dream. How the moon changes in color
from blue to red to gray represents how he himself is changing. I purposely didn't show exactly what went wrong or what happened because I always like to let the audience come to their own conclusions. For the end, the picture in the bathtub signifies how he is trying to wash her from his mind—bo
th the good times and the bad. I was about to make him kill himself, but that would be too typical. GOOD LUCK to everyone
