Video Description:
The Tell-Tale Heart is a wonderful animated short film of 1953 based on Edgar Allan Poe short-story. The story told by a mad man has a dark visual with a perfect work of narration by James Mason. It is a UPA Production and was the first cartoon to be X-rated (adults only) in Great Britain under the British Board of Film Censors classification system. Really great - you have to see it.

| this is a great piece. there is also a new movie out based on Poe's life, rather than his work. It will reveal the remaining mysteries about his fascinating life. You can watch the trailer by searching "Poe- Last Days Of The Raven Trailer" on youtube, or watch it from my favorites. The movie will stream for free online on Jan 19th, 2009 - as a tribute to Poe's 200th birthday. A must see for any Poe fan!! |

| I dont blame them for an X-rating. The animation style alone is very graphic, very creepy. And the idea that the story's being told by a lunatic doesn't help either. Besides, critics had different standards back then. |
