No one can hold a candle to Classic RUSH 1974-1982. The Terry Brown years. They need to reach back one more time, because their last two albums (VT and SnA) aren't up to snuff. Just another RUSH fan's opinion. I think we RUSH fans should stop idolizing them so much because 'the boys' now think they can put anything out knowing that we'll eat it up just because it's RUSH. They haven't had a platinum album since RTB and a gold since T4E.

Actually they are dryers, Geddy said that Alex took up so much room on his side with all of his amps, he wanted something on his side so it didn't look so empty. Just an example of their humor.

From a Rush Blog: "Geddy no longer uses actual amplifiers on stage. He uses something called "Sans-Amp" which basically let's him process his sound just as if he had an amp on stage, but it goes directly to the sound board. He didn't want his side of the stage to seem empty so he decided to put dryers on stage, just as a joke. For the R30 tour he added a snack machine as well."

The clothes dryers take up the space where Geddy's amps used to be. He now just plugs directly into the house system and, therefore, no longer needs anything on his side of the stage. The dryers have no heating filament (why would they?), and the T-shirts in there were thrown out by Alex and Geddy after each show. I got a red one at the show in Nashville and it says "I GOT THIS SHIRT FROM DRYER #2 ON THE VAPOR TRAILS TOUR". Simple, but still cool.

As for "Sans amp", that's French for "without amp". It's a joke. It's Geddy's way of filling up his tech blog in the concert books because he has nothing to say about amplification. It's along the same lines as the henhouse amps. Now there's something you can really sink your teeth into!

Dude get your facts straight. It's no joke. Geddy does use a Tech21 Sansamp RPM preamp, two of them. He runs his signal into an Avalon U5 DI, into a Palmer speaker simulator, then out to two Sansamp RPM's...all three signals going to the house system. He does have bass amps onstage--located behind the chicken roasting machines--Trace Elliot bass amps to be exact, as an onstage bass monitor. After all, if you pumped all that bass into the onstage P.A. monitors, it would drown out everything else
