This video was made entirely from footage taken from the Werner Herzog documentary "The Great Ecstasy of the Woodcarver Steiner" (1974).

I saw this film years ago at a Werner Herzog film festival at the Egyptian. Herzog himself had dreamed of being an Olympic champion ski jumper, but admitted that he could never quite make the grade. I wonder if he's seen this version of his footage? Very nice job!

Not to complain, but - do you have to hack up a brilliant film? Can't you do something original? It's like that video which takes the guy from 'Even Dwarves Started Small' and makes it into "mental little dwarf laughing, LOL". I love G.E.W.S. - it's depressing to see it carved up, decontextualized, repackaged and dished up stone cold as a music video for some band. And the original Popul Vuh soundtrack to this footage is a hundred thousand times better. DO SOMETHING ORIGINAL, DUDES!

Amazing! I really don't leave comments to gush over videos, but this is great. I've seen "Ecstacy" and it was really good, but I think you may have done a better job conveying the meaning of "Ecstacy" that Herzog hints at in "Herzog on Herzog." The wild rush and the real flight that this person has unleashed upon himself.

This is the first HEALTH song I've heard. The whole thing sounds like an introduction to a song. There is only a beginning, no middle, or end. Well, I guess there is that last chord, but that about does it.
