Here in the United States, radio is only a handful of what's "new" followed with even less of what was popular years ago thrown in for good measure ... all played ad nauseam.
This is followed by radio commercials that seem to go on for far longer than the songs!
I've pretty much stopped listening to the radio years ago while the CD player in my car always gets used for music while I drive.
Some of what I listen to are the 3 D's (or 4): Devo, Duran Duran, and Depeche Mode.

As for one song that really *irritates* me: "I Don't Want to miss a thing" by Aerosmith.
Not a bad song, but it was played so frequently on the radio while I was at high school that I just flat out got sick and tired of it. I still can't listen to it without cringing.
Yet, I can listen to Devo's "Pity You" over and again and not complain at all.
I guess, deep down, I never really liked "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" and how often it was played made me think of it like nails on the blackboard.
