Look up the definition of "anti-American." Actually listen to the lyrics between, "I'm so tired of you America." He's criticizing war-mongering and gay-bashing in America. That does not mean he's against everything America stands for, nor that he's hostile to US citizens, which is clearly what "anti-American" implies.

love Rufus. Love all his work. Have not heard a bad one yet. I am Scotish and loving this song does not make me anti America. Quite the opposite in fact. In this day and age we can substitute any country in the song title and it would still be the same beatiful, haunting song.
