Update: Well, it's been awhile since the contest, so I just thought I'd add some details for the curious. I found out about the contest less than two weeks before deadline. The plan was to make a bunch of temp effects and animations that would be replaced later with more refined versions. I wa
s being a little ambitious and was lucky just to get the temp stuff done. That "temp" footage is what you see in the video. All effects were created in photoshop and final cut pro, very simple stuff, but complicated enough for me; I had no clue what I was doing! Just goes to show that with a litt
le imagination and thought, you can do some neat stuff. Part of that temp material was shooting myself lip synch the entire song. Yeah, it was as silly as it sounds. Unfortunately, I'm still there singing the wrong words to the chorus! Fortunately, at the last minute, I was able to get Avital A
sh to come in and lip synch the lead vocals. I won't go into detail about all the technical hang ups, but I will say that it was nothing short of a miracle that I was able to get her footage into the film by deadline. No small part of that is a testament to her generosity and patience. And best o
