Inflation will occur whether we are on the gold standard or not, which is what Ron Paul doesn't understand. He also believes highly in the Austrian school of economic thought, which relies solely on assumptions. No actual data or econometrics. Just because he's been arguing about an impending economic crises doesn't mean anything. Many top level economists, like Greenspan, also predicted a downturn occuring this year and into the next, yet they would whole heartedly disagree with Paul's policies

He's not just arguing this economic crisis, he's stating factual evidence to what the governments strategic intent has resoluted us to. Not only that, he's insisting a solution, GET OUT OF WAR, control each and every individuals spending habits, etc, that is a real solution. Bernanke knows fool well that Ron Paul is right. However if he ever gave credence to Paul he would be looking for a new job. He is not likely to do that when nothing pays better than printing counterfeit money especially when the government turns a deaf ear because someone managed to get an illegal bill passed in 1913.
