Even though I made the distinction, people who had cold sores just angrily said things like "No it isn't dumb ass, I've never had no fucking herpes!". In fact most people aggressively argued against my pointing this out, claiming it wasn't true and that it's a ridiculous notion. Only one other student and the science teachers agreed. Lip sores are common, because many people are infected at 'very' young age... i.e. your uncle/aunt, who has HSV-1, kisses you on the cheek. So, be extra careful when you play with your 'hot-rod', because that rod can also get very inflammatory if not protected right!
