hey my intake on this is, Jaco was drunk when he was trying to break in, and the bouncer probably felt defensive but probably didn't mean to kill him. if you had a drunkard trying to break in your club would you kick him back out? i wouldn't kill him but other things could have been done to resolve it.

If he was simply being defensive, he would have only used enough force to subdue him. Given his combat training, he probably would have known how much force was necessary, but he probably acted out of anger. Regardless, last I heard the issue is resolved and forgiven between the Pastorius family and the bouncer.
